Snowflake[R] Baby
![]() Frozen embryos offer hope to childless couples who want to experience the entire child experience from pregnancy to adulthood. When a family has been successful in having a child through in vitro fertilization, remaining embryos are often cryo-preserved or "frozen". This results in the question of what to do with the remaining embryos if they have completed their family building. These frozen embryos can be the hope of a child for an infertile couple and may become a Snowflake Baby. Nightlight Christian Adoptions frozen embryo adoption program has been named SnowflakesR because embryos are unique, fragile and frozen, just like a snowflake. The program began in 1997 to allow embryos to achieve their ultimate purpose - life, and now in 2010, over 215 children have been born to parents working through the program. There are over 500,000 frozen embryos in storage in the United States. These are pre-born children waiting for a chance at life. The Embryo Adoption Awareness Center is a division of Nightlight Christian Adoptions, and works to increase awareness regarding embryo donation and adoption throughout the U.S. Visit snowflakes.org for more information about the Snowflakes Embryo Adoption Program.
