Couple See Success with Embryo Adoption
Over 7 million couples in the United States are struggling to start a family. But what if you could have a baby by adopting an embryo? A local couple did just that. KMBC's Bev Chapman reported that the California woman who gave birth to octuplets sparked a national dialogue over what to do with extra embryos -- would-be babies created by couples going through in-vitro fertilization. Embryo adoption is one option that is giving infertile couples new hope. "I never thought I would get to be pregnant since we faced infertility and knew we were going to adopt. So to find out there was a way to be pregnant and still adopt, we were thrilled," said Lara Kruse. The Kruses call 10-month-old Lucy and Nora their little miracles. The Kruses said they always planned to have children. After years of trying and two failed attempts at traditional adoption, Lara Kruse was able to get pregnant. "We were ready to do anything," Justin Kruse said. WATCH AND READ the story at KMBC-TV.
